Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a small deposit scheme for the girl child launched by the Government of India as part of the "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" campaign. The scheme aims to promote the welfare of the girl child and ensure their education and marriage expenses. Under this scheme, a parent or legal guardian can open an account in the name of a girl child aged 10 years or below. The account can be opened at any post office or authorized banks in India. The account can be operated till the girl reaches the age of 21 years or until the account is closed after completion of 21 years, whichever is earlier.
